VALORANT agents
All 29 playable characters, grouped by role, with every ability and its keybind. VALORANT calls its characters “agents”, and each one belongs to a role that determines what the rest of the team expects from them.
Duelist
8 agents
Entry fraggers. Their kits are built to take space and win the opening duel, with self-sufficient tools to engage or escape.
Initiator
7 agents
They clear the way in. Reveals, flashes and displacement let a team enter a site without walking blind into held angles.
Controller
7 agents
They decide which angles exist. Smokes and area denial let a team take a site while ignoring half the defenders on it.
Sentinel
7 agents
They hold ground. Flank watch and site lockdown buy the time everyone else needs to rotate.
How to pick an agent
A team of five usually wants one of each role plus a flex pick, but that matters far less at lower ranks than sticking with one agent long enough to learn them. Every agent has four abilities, and knowing exactly what yours do — including the timings — beats switching to whoever is strong this patch.
If you’re new, start with a kit that’s obviously useful without precise execution. Abilities that block sight or heal help your team even when thrown imperfectly; abilities that need a lineup do nothing until you’ve learned one.
