Duelist

Neon

Filipino Agent Neon surges forward at shocking speeds, discharging bursts of bioelectric radiance as fast as her body generates it. She races ahead to catch enemies off guard then strikes them down quicker than lightning.

Abilities

C

Fast Lane

FIRE two energy lines forward on the ground that extend a short distance or until they hit a surface. The lines rise into walls of static electricity that block vision.

Bought with credits at the start of a round, and lost when you die.

Q

Relay Bolt

INSTANTLY throw an energy bolt that bounces once. Upon hitting each surface, the bolt electrifies the ground below with a Concussive blast.

Bought with credits at the start of a round, and lost when you die.

E

High Gear

INSTANTLY channel Neon’s power for Increased Speed. When charged, ALT FIRE to trigger an electric slide dash. Slide charge resets every two kills.

The signature ability — free every round, and on some agents it recharges through play rather than being bought.

X

Overdrive

Unleash Neon’s full power and speed for a short duration, regaining all her fuel and a slide charge. FIRE to channel the power into a deadly lightning beam with high movement accuracy. Kills reset the duration of the effect.

Charged by ultimate orbs, kills, deaths and planting or defusing the spike.

What a Duelist does

Duelists are the entry fraggers. Their kits are built to take space and win opening duels, and they carry self-sufficient escape or engage tools so they can enter a site first.

Duelists are self-sufficient fraggers who their team expects, through abilities and skills, to get high frags and seek out engagements first.

How Neon’s kit is bought

Two of Neon’s abilities are bought with credits each round and lost on death. High Gear is the signature ability, so it’s free every round. Overdrive is the ultimate and can’t be bought at all — it charges through play.

Riot builds each agent under an internal codename before the character exists — Neon was developed as “Sprinter”. The codenames survive in the game files long after release.

Playing Neon

Neon has 4 usable abilities per round. Two are bought with credits and lost on death, which means an eco round genuinely changes what Neon can do — not just what gun you hold.

The habit that separates good duelists from bad ones is spending abilities rather than saving them. They don’t carry over between rounds, so an unused ability at the end of a round is credits you set on fire.
