VALORANT agent tier list

Ranked by how easy each agent is to be useful on — not by pro pick rate. That’s a deliberate choice, and the reason is worth two sentences before you read the list.

What this list is, and isn’t

There is no public source for VALORANT ranked pick and win rates. Riot doesn’t publish them, and the available APIs prohibit deriving them from match records. So any site presenting a confident “meta tier list” is either using its own biased sample or making it up.

What can be judged honestly is how forgiving a kit is: whether the abilities still help when used imperfectly, or whether they need lineups and setup before they do anything. That’s the real question behind “who should I play”, and unlike meta, it barely moves between patches.

S

Abilities that help even when used imperfectly. A badly placed wall or a late heal is still worth something, so you contribute while you're still learning the maps.

A

Straightforward kits with one thing to learn. Forgiving enough for a new player, with a skill ceiling worth growing into.

B

Rewarding but demanding. These kits need positioning, timing or team coordination before they pay off — strong in the right hands, quiet in the wrong ones.

C

Specialists. Genuinely powerful, but they ask for lineups, map knowledge or a team that plays around them — a hard place to start.

Too new to place fairly

These 5 agents are recent enough that we haven’t seen sustained play across skill levels. Rather than guess at a placement, they’re listed here with their kits — which you can read and judge for yourself.

Why tier lists mislead new players

The agent at the top of a meta list is usually there because professionals extract value from a difficult kit. That says nothing about whether it will work for someone still learning where the angles are.

Picking one agent and staying on them beats chasing whoever is strong this patch, by a wide margin. Map knowledge and ability timing are agent-specific, and they only accumulate if you stop switching.

Pick by role first

Roles matter more than individual agents. Decide whether you want to enter first, clear the way, control space or hold ground — then take the most forgiving agent in that role and learn them properly.
