What is Closer in VALORANT?
A Closer is the callout for getting the kill that ends the match — the final elimination of the final round.
A Closer marks the kill that finishes the game. It is the least-discussed of the six ceremonies in the game files, largely because it happens once per match at most and only for one player. Like the rest, it is recognition rather than reward.
It is the one ceremony that is purely circumstantial. An Ace or a Clutch reflects something you did across a round; a Closer reflects being the person holding the angle when the last enemy walked into it. Plenty of players have never seen it and plenty have several.
It appears in the same list as Ace, Team Ace, Clutch, Flawless and Thrifty — six in total, which is the complete set the game ships. Anything described as a seventh callout is either a mode-specific message or somebody's invention.
